Get ready for another exciting Sharks Cheerleading year! Join us for our annual tryouts running over 4 days. Any athletes ages 3+ are eligible to come out on their age appropriate day/time. Everyone makes a team at Cheer Sport Sharks, so bring your water bottle, comfortable clothing and running shoes and be part of our Teal Team.

It is with great pride that we have seen both the Shark & Seawave programs grow year after year as ‘sister’ entities within the Cheer Sport Gyms family.  It truly is amazing how far we have come, and we are now, more than ever, looking forward to what the future has in store for Cheer Sport.

When we started our gyms, we felt that separating them through branding was ideal.  Now, 10 years after Cheer Sport was started, we have realized that we truly want to feel like one big family, despite two geographical locations.  For this reason, we have decided to re-brand Cheer Sport Seawaves as Cheer Sport Sharks.  Our Ancaster location will continue to provide an outstanding cheerleading experience for families in the Hamilton area as the Cheer Sport Sharks.

We are so excited about the future of Cheer Sport.  We have loved the ‘Seawave’ name & pride, and can’t wait to see this continue for years to come in Ancaster as the Cheer Sport Sharks.

By Invitation Only, a select group of athletes will be asked to attend a tryout for the 2012-2013 Great White Sharks.

When:  Sunday, May 27^th: 6-7:30pm at the Shark Tank.

Athletes new to the team must attend one of the tryout times listed on www.cheersportsharks.com in order to be invited to the GW Tryout.  This tryout is to see the candidates work together prior to determining the team for the coming season.  Invitations will be extended after the athletes have attended their correct tryout based on age.

The Great White Sharks are 5 time Canadian Level 5 Grand National Champions & 2012 Worlds Silver Medalists.  This is a highly competitive tryout, where athletes will be expected to display excellence in tumbling, stunting and the performance areas of cheerleading.

The term tumbling is used to describe the gymnastic elements such as cartwheels and backhand springs. There are two equally important components of tumbling: Standing and Running.  Cheer Sport offers a unique, cost efficient, prepaid tumbling packages. These packages are purchased at registration in June and will provide you with scheduled tumbling from June 2012-May 2013. By purchasing tumbling packages you will receive a 20-25% savings. We know that athletes with tumbling packages progress much quicker and show more confidence in their skills. You also receive a reserved open tumbling time, exclusively for package holders. You can choose from the Teal or White package.

TUMBLING WHITE PACKAGE:

• 1 Semi-private lesson every other week (June-May, 20 classes)
• 20% Savings
• $50/Month

TUMBLING TEAL PACKAGE:

• 1 Semi-private lesson every week (June-May, 40 classes)
• 25% Savings
• $90/Month

If you choose to not purchase a tumbling package, you can still sign-up as you like based on availability, which will be limited. A semi-private lesson without a package is $30, so if your daughter loves to tumble, your best savings will be to purchase a tumbling package.

This past weekend Cheer Sport Sharks brought 21 teams & 30 Indy/Duo performers to Cheer Evolution Nationals in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Teal lit up the Scotiabank Convention Centre over the 3 day event with
Fintastic performances.

We could not be more proud of our athletes!
We came back to the TANK with the following finishes.

8 – 1st place teams ~ Cookies, Blacktip, Lemon, Megamouth, White cheek, Hammerhead, StarSpotted & Great White Sharks
4 – 2nd place teams ~ Smalltooth, Frilled, Zebra & White Fin
4- 3rd place teams ~ Polkadot, Wobbegong, Basking & Silky
3 – 4th place teams ~ Crown, Silvertip & Spinner
1- 5th place team ~ Leopard Sharks

Cheer Sport also brought home GRAND CHAMPIONS in Level 1 & Level 5

27 All Star Cheer Teams and 30 HotShot Cheerleading girls
to Cheer Evolution Nationals being held at the
